Half-filled. Women’s Final 4.

Two of the teams are in. Two will be decided Tuesday night. And it may be a little consolation to Sherri Coales Sooners.

Notre Dame, which bounced OU from the tournament, finally whipped Tennessee. The victory was 28 years in coming. The #2 seeded Fighting Irish knocked off the Lady Vols handily, the 73-59 score the first time in 20 attempts that Tennessee has come up short.

Also moving into the Final Four was Stanford, an 83-60 winner over Gonzaga. The Cardinal pulled in 11,000 fans to watch the whipping, and Stanford will take on the winner of Tuesday’s Baylor-Texas A&M game.

The other spot in the Final Four will go to the winner of the matchup between powerhouses UConn (35-1) and Duke (32-3).

The national semi-finals will be played Sunday, April 3, at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The NCAA Championship will tip off two days later.
